A memorandum of understanding was signed by the ¾ÅÉ«, through the initiative of the (USTGS-CCCPET), and by the Department of Tourism – Region VIII on September 5, 2019.
The MOU is expected to generate meaningful collaborations in heritage and tourism projects in Eastern Visayas, such as assistance in the nomination of Samar Island Natural Park to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, cultural mapping activities in various districts and towns, and documentation of built heritage structures in the region.
The MOU signing was attended by the DOT Regional Director Ms. Karina Rosa Tiopes, UST Graduate School Dean Michael Anthony C. Vasco, USTGS-CCCPET Director , and UST Dean Gezzez Giezi G. Granado, DCL.
