The UST Engineering Job Fair 2023 was an event produced by the Industry, Government, Academe, and Alumni Relations Program (IGAARP) alongside Engineering Student Council (ESC) in order for students to connect with employers and find out about job and internship opportunities.

Participants of the event were able to: (1) browse employer booths in-person and review job postings; (2) directly apply to positions that interest them or express interests in positions you plan to apply; and (3) attend company seminars to learn more about the company.

Industry-Academe Linkage programs drive learning, innovation, and success for industries and academic institutions alike hence yielding various benefits:

Opportunities for connections and professional growth abound as the linkage program will provide pathways to potential employers and employees for both sectors.
The instructors and students will contribute economical and exquisite manual labor resulting in increased productivity.
Processes and technologies will be enhanced as new and innovative ideas from students and educators are incorporated.

PRE-IMMERSION ORIENTATION

Requirements and responsibilities of student interns
Internship violations that must be avoided
Internship procedure
List of companies with active MOA’s
Know your Immersion Advisers

ETPI DONATION

On April 13, 2023, the Engineering Conference Hall at Fr. Roque Fr. Roque Ruaño Building, held a Meet and Greet Ceremony between Eastern Telecommunications Philippines, Inc. (ETPI) and the UST Faculty of Engineering to honor the two institutions’ combined efforts in donating network devices, such as routers, switches, hubs, etc., to the Faculty of Engineering.

ADI UNIVERSITY CARAVAN

This event is in partnership with the Faculty of Engineering and the Industry, Government, Academe, and Alumni Relations Program (IGAARP). ADI is a semiconductor company and is one of the ECE department’s industrial partners which regularly visits the department and offers chances for undergraduate and graduate scholarships, internships, and employment.

Asst. Prof Anthony James C. Bautista, Ph.d., acting associate dean of the Faculty of Engineering (FoE), welcomed the attendees in his opening remark. Following that, product development test engineering manager, Engr. Ronald Basuil, delivered a company overview.

Thomasian graduates, Engr. Maeryll Louise Trinidad and Engr. Jess Espiritue, who are both employees of ADI, then talked about their experiences as they work for the company.
